Online

I have an official faculty webpage, and I have a page on Academia.edu as well. The books I’ve contributed essays to can be found on my page on Amazon.

My Twitter handle is @kathrynthehuman.

I also go by @kathrynthehuman on Instagram, where I post my art, doodles, and travel photos, as well as occasional shots of teaching materials and student work.

I post reviews of Japanese fiction in translation on Contemporary Japanese Literature. The blog also features guest reviews and occasional essays on Japanese popular media.

I keep an English-language reading log and occasionally write very short reviews on my account on Goodreads.

My main blog on Tumblr is @pocketseizure, where I post and reblog fan art and meta essays about the games in the Legend of Zelda franchise. The Tumblr account I use as a portfolio for my own art is @rynling, and I also post fanfic as Rynling on AO3. I also have an account on Pillowfort.

My zines are available for purchase on my Etsy shop, Digital Terrarium.

During 2016 and 2017, I posted reactions and research notes about video games on a blog called Digital Fantasy Travel Diary. This site also contains a bibliography of popular-audience and academic work on Japanese games, but I am no longer updating it.

I used to post amateur translations of Japanese literature to Japanese Translations. This is an archive that no longer updates, but it contains my translations of short stories by Mieko Kanai, Yumiko Kurahashi, and Haruki Murakami.

Although I have not added new material since 2014, I host a collection of more than 1,000 photographs of Japan on my account on Flickr.

I was active on my account on LiveJournal from 2006 to 2013, during which time I made more than a thousand posts on topics like grad school, internet culture, and video games. From 2014 to 2017, I made about five hundred posts on my account on Dreamwidth, where I chronicled my thoughts on popular entertainment media and my experiences with Tumblr-based fandom.
